Forever condiments

- Working with alternative materials

In this project, we were tasked with the challenge of selecting two alternative materials and using them to create a unique piece of jewelry. I was captivated by the idea of taking everyday pantry staples and transforming them into a wearable piece of art.

Materials

In this project, I was intrigued by the idea of utilizing pantry staples as unique materials for jewelry creation. I selected split peas, black cardamom, cinnamon sticks, and marigold seed pots to be the main elements of the piece. I incorporated these items into a choker necklace design and encapsulated them in resin to preserve them for eternity.

The chocker

This is the final result, creating a unique and almost ethereal look with its green and brown hues, while the copper chain perfectly complements the color palette and adds an extra level of elegance to the design. The marigold seed pot centerpiece adds a sense of primal essence to the piece.
