For this project, we were assigned a painting that depicted a particular culture. In my case, I was given a painting by Paul Gauguin that showcased Polynesian culture. Throughout the assignment, we explored the complex topic of cultural appropriation and the importance of designing with cultural sensitivity and respect.

I drew inspiration from the themes I perceived in the painting. Specifically, I was captivated by the idea of womanhood, which I sought to capture through a combination of ovaries and orchid silhouettes in my necklace design.
